Iconic pictures of Lou Reed, Debbie Harry and David Bowie become exclusive art prints

Today the legendary Lou Reed of the Velvet Underground would have turned 79. To celebrate the anniversary, the famous music photographer Mick Rock (who on this same date will celebrate 51 years from the beginning of his career) collaborated with the Irish artist Fin DAC on the MIDARO project, which will see the most famous shots of Lou Reed, Debbie Harry, Iggy Pop and David Bowie transformed into works of art with a street flavour that will then be auctioned individually with the proceeds that will be donated to three charities: NHS, Care International and CALM. David Bowie’s print will be auctioned until March 16, Lou Reed’s will arrive on the site today and will remain until March 23, while Debbie Harry’s will be sold from March 8-30.

The images, which will be auctioned through the online art gallery West Contemporary Editions, were created by Fin DAC using Mick Rock’s images reworked both as a limited edition art print series and as canvas paintings. Mick Rock then selected some of his most iconic shots, dating back to the period from 1968 to 1980, and created art prints that, together with four original artworks, will be put on sale in various sizes always in limited edition.
All information about the artwork release is available on the West Contemporary Editions website.
